Annual General Meeting

The U3A Hastings Annual General Meeting will be held at Hastings Hall on Thursday 2nd April and all members are invited to attend. Please arrive at 10.45 for an 11.00am start.

This event not only provides a perfect opportunity to reflect on the events and successes during the past 12 months but it marks the time for a renewed committee to start planning together for the coming year.  It will also give us the opportunity to see the refurbished Hastings Hall.

The Nomination form is required if you wish to join the Committee. On the Committee you would have the opportunity of playing an important role in the future planning and day to day running and growth of Hastings U3A.

The Proxy form can be used if you cannot attend the meeting and you want to give your ‘proxy’ vote to an attending financial member so they can vote on motions on your behalf.

For catering purposes, we need you to RSVP by 27th March.

You can record your attendance via UMAS by logging in and selecting the AGM course, or you can call the U3A Hastings office (59794280) or email members@u3ahastings.org.au  We may have a limit in the Hall so please RSVP asap.

Guest Speaker

At the conclusion of the AGM Ms Mel Barker, CEO of the not-for-profit Westernport Biosphere Foundation (https://www.biosphere.org.au) will talk about her organisation.

The Biosphere Foundation has worked with the community to create a sustainable future for Western Port. They do this through research, education, community engagement, partnerships and on-ground conservation efforts.

Mel became the CEO of the Biosphere Foundation in May 2021. Passionate about environmental issues and a proud Biosphere Reserve local resident, Mel is committed to driving impactful outcomes at the Foundation. Mel has a Bachelor of Information Science from the University of Adelaide and a Master of Environment from the University of Melbourne. She will be a very interesting speaker from a Hastings based organisation.

As always we will have a raffle and lucky door prize.   The meeting will be followed by a light lunch and the chance to talk with fellow U3A members and your new committee.

MEMBERS AND LEADERS PLEASE NOTE:   NO CLASSES WILL BE HELD ON THE DAY OF THE AGM. THIS WILL GIVE MEMBERS THE OPPORTUNITY TO ATTEND.
